Introduction
Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), provides the methods for storing directory data and making this data available to network users and administrators. For example, AD DS stores information about user accounts, such as names, passwords, phone numbers, and so on, and enables other authorised users on the same network to access this information.
Clients on the network will not be able to work properly if the Active Directory Domain Controller is down or not responding. To avoid this, build up extra Active Directory Domain Controllers to provide the same services, so that if one server goes down or fails to react, the other domain controllers can take over.
